PSiRA has launched a preliminary investigation into what it calls a "barbaric crime".
The allegations came to light after a parent laid a complaint at the school in Orlando East last month.
The regulator says that if the patroller is not registered with the PSiRA, necessary steps will be taken.
The director Manabela Chauke says: “We condemn this kind of behaviour. We are now trying to establish whether the officer is registered with us and if all necessary steps were taken before he was employed.”
The 57-year-old man was arrested on Monday and made his first court appearance on Wednesday, where he was remanded in custody.
